German Society of Perfumers (DGP)

General Information
The Deutsche Gesellschaft der Parfümeure, short DGP, is a nationalsociety of perfumers and other professionals from companies dealing with fragrances and the corresponding industry. It is part of SEPAWA just like the regional committees and specialised groups within Germany and abroad.
The DGP was founded as Section Perfumery on 29. September 1979 in Bad Dürkheim at the annual Conference of the General meeting of SEPAWA. Along the lines of other international perfumer associations a name change to Deutsche Gesellschaft der Parfümeure (DGP) was also agreed on by the members of the general meeting in Bad Dürkheim on 15. October 1998.
The GermanSociety of Perfumers belongs to SEPAWA as a supraregional association of perfumers and experts in the fragrance industry.
The DGP is in charge of familiarising the public with the issue of fragrance beeing an aesthetic element. Since: Fragrance means quality of life! Therefore, the subject, fragrance, is an essential part of inter-branch work and studies. Moreover, DGP strengthens the profile of perfumery and provides a platform that stimulates the creative exchange of ideas among all experts. Various lecture and study trips as well as the collaboration with international perfumers associations, such as, Société Francaise des Parfumeurs, promote scientific and creative activity in the field of perfume.
New members are accepted only if they have actively worked in the perfume industry or other related fields for some years and are already am member of SEPAWA.
Tasks and contents of the DGP:
Having an active share in the SEPAWA committees and promoting the goals of SEPAWA, taking into account special interests of the DGP.
Organising and attending conferences, lectures, educational trips, workshops, excursions, expositions and so on.
Public representation of interests of SEPAWA.
Promotion of training and further education of junior employees.
Intensifying cooperation and relations with international associations of perfumers.
Promoting scientific and creative activities in the perfume field.
Promoting participation in internationalcompetitions for perfume prices.
During the general meeting of the GermanSociety of Perfumers within SEPAWA the re-election of the board of directors took place according to statutory law. This meeting was held in Würzburg on 11th October 2007.
