Expert association with tradition
In the 50s soap boilers were forced to re-organise themselves due to the indusdtrial changes: by including experts of the detergent industry, a timely form of organisation had to be found.
Therefore, following the soap boiler conference in Ludwigshafen am Rhein in October 1954, the SEPAWA was brought into existence and thereafter annual conventions were held in Bad Dürkheim.
Whereas soap, detergent and cosmetic products used to be equally important, the preoccupation with synthetic detergent ingredients came more and more to the fore as the years went by. Small craftsmen shops turned into medium-sized industrial firms. With these the industry reached the threshold of becoming a large scale industry with new challenges to face.SEPAWA reacted to this restructure by focusing on new tasks and by reorganizing. Therefore, the demand of training and informing experts of the trade was continued to be met.
