Understanding the structure of soft interfaces decorated with polymers and surfactants is relevant to many biological processes and industrial applications. Recent advances have helped unravel hidden complexity at such buried soft interfaces, facilitating insights into molecular packing and nanostructure at the interfaces. The impact of such knowledge will be illustrated through several examples, including fundamental understanding of biolubrication mechanisms and eco-formulation for falling snow solutions in film industry.
