Azett and BactEX have spent over4 years of research have found a way to disinfect porous natural ground beads such as walnut, mais and apricot kernel meal.
The usual way of doing this is either high temperature or a hydrogenperoxide treatment before its use in cosmetic formulations. These treatments both have their drawbacks in terms of energy or traces left on the treated substance.
This novel approach backed by lab test such as EN 1276 and EN 1650 under dirty conditions, is currently being used to disinfect ground walnut shells and ground mais husk that are used as scouring agents in industrial grade hand cleansers.
This application can certainly be applied to all water based systems as its an „in situ“ process that uses cosmetic grade raw materials to do the job.
As a offshoot of these promsing results we were able to create a suitable disinfectant platform that has a broad spectrum of efficacy agaist gram negative and gram positive bacteria, yeast funghi and enveloped viruses.
The speciality of this family of fomulations is that it allows us to tailor the efficay to the needs of the user, thus reducing the amount of disinfectant needed as well as reducing the VOC level that alcohol products have.
All relevant EN tests to medical standards such as EN 13727, EN 14476, EN 17387, EN 13624, EN 1500 have been sucessfully passed and the product family is currently in the registration process in the EU for use as hand and surface disinfectants.
